Monochromatic My Way

* The Outfit *
For warm weather, there’s nothing more visually refreshing than a light, monochromatic look. I don’t usually wear monochromatic outfits because I’m such a color fiend, but I saw my Mom wearing white cropped jeans with a white blouse and it looked so effortlessly chic. For my monochromatic look, I opted for a white skirt, tank in an eggshell color and a statement necklace to add pop. The great thing about this sort of look is that it’s easy and it never goes out of style.

Crisp cotton poplin — my favorite summer fabric.

This necklace was “handmade by artisans in Ecuador” (according to Anthropologie’s website) and you can really see how well-made it is by looking at the stitching. I was sort of stalking it until it finally went on sale. It looks great with tons of different colors — can’t wait to wear it with navy. I like how monochromatic styling allows for accessories to shine.

One of my favorite bags because of the cutout detail, cross-stitched handles and buttery leather. It wasn’t cheap, but well worth it. My only regret is not using it more often.

  1. I _love_ your necklace. The whole outfit is cute, but that necklace really clinches it. It’s sold out though, boo :(
    I wonder if I could make a dupe….

    • Hey Jaclyn! I agree — the necklace completes the outfit. Once it went on sale, it sold-out like hotcakes. You could try to see if it’s available at your local Anthro.
